The first land patent in what is now Todd County was made by Albert Gilbert of Dodge County Wisconsin, in 1856, the only cash sale listed in the years listed here and the earliest authority by right of the 1820 Act of Congress. The type of land records listed are: MN-Cash Sales; MW-Military Warrants; CT-Chippewas Treaty Patents; and SS-Sioux Script Patents.
